So, from Feb 2007 until November 2008 I worked for ABM Janitorial. As of December 2008 I work for New Edge Networks! an Earthlink Company!
I am SO Excited for this day! I have longed for this day, when I could get back to what I wanted to be doing in the first place, Customer Service. I left that field in 2006 when I was under the idea of making more money with another company and found out I had messed that up really bad and since then I have been trying to get it all back, and I have!!!!
I am back.
So this weekend I am up on Mt. Hood with the other LSM leaders, so nice up here. Its quiet and warm. Love it!
Not a lot to say. Just that I’m lovin it!
Friday I started feeling yucky and yesterday and today are no different. I feel so congested and my cough is horrible. I hate getting sick. its just not a feeling I enjoy having. Although Hot Apple Cider really did a number for me 🙂 tasted nice and helpped my throat.
Friday was the second Computer Geek meeting. I am really excited to see what God has in store for this group. There are so many possibilities and I can’t get over how God has brought so many knowledgeable people into one group. It is pretty awesome I hafta say.
Well, I am going to go get some Tea or Hot Apple Cider (whichever i can find)
Take care of yourselfs and don’t catch what I got.
I know for a lot of you, when you think of Jesus you get an image of a man with a beard who was tall wearing a robe. But the true fact is the bible says that Jesus was beaten so badly, we wouldn’t recognize him. Just imagine, 1 man took all the punishment of the world on himself so we can live, he took the whipping, the beating, the blood loss, he took ALL of it so we didn’t have to. My LORD took the beating of a lifetime for the WHOLE world because HE LOVED US! Jesus died on the cross so we didn’t have to. God loves us so much, John 3:16 says, “For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
When you think of Jesus I think you really be seeing this…..
Don’t forget what He endured for us, when you see the cross you should see this picture. Never forget what was given so you could live. You ARE Loved!
Never forget it!
So, God showed me a lot of stuff while having Coffee with Kath yesterday, I really love my friends! Just the fact that they are willing to speak up when they see something that needs it. Kath talked to me about relational stuff yesterday and God REALLY spoke to me about some of the things in my life. I am amazed daily how God can give a tap on my shoulder ever now and again through a friend and correct my walk, its not a “Your guilty because….” its more of a “I see this, lets get it corrected” its so uplifting to have friends thats speak not just into my life, but God speaks through them straight into my being. I am so blessed to have friends that keep me in-line even when I don’t see a “problem” sometimes the only way to see an “issue” is to look in from the outside, as humans we tend to justify things in our minds and it suddenly becomes “Ok” but not everything is ok, we need to do a Spring cleaning of our minds and bodies on occasion.
That’s what God showed me with Life Group, I have an AMAZING idea for Group tomorrow night. I think God will not only show up, he will move in a Big way! I learned awhile ago when I feel a strong leading to do something, its better to just move with it then it is to stop, question, analyze and then make a judgment. Life Group is one of those things, I have been given a chance to speak into my friends lives the way they have spoken into my life. I tried doin’ things my way, like planning a message that I thought would be good, but God showed me that its not about what I want to see, its about what HE wants to have said, so I have just made myself available and he is using that in amazing ways.
So for those of you who are in my Life Group….Be prepared to feel God each week in a way that will move you to your very soul, I do not want to give a message that I want to give, I want to give a message that God has given me to give. It is and will always be ALL About God.
You guys are awesome, and never forget….You ARE Loved! even when you don’t think so! You have ALWAYS got me and Jesus! Keep your eyes on the Cross and you will do great things.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”- Psalm 139:23-24
That’s right people. It is MONDAY! the start of another long week, and in some cases spring break. This weekend went by pretty fast but it was an AMAZING weekend! Sunday I stayed home and did pretty much nothing. Saturday on the other hand was pretty frickin cool! I went to the Living Hope Orchards Campus with Joseph, Damian and Patrick and made Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches.
Then we went into downtown portland and found homeless people and gave them 60-ish sandwiches we then gave the other 40-ish to the skaters at the burnside skate park. It was pretty awesome.
While we were doing that Patrick and I noticed this weird gathering of people dressed in garb and people tied to shopping carts, with rope. We stopped to ask what was going on and the guy laughed at us and said, “You guys aren’t from around here are ya?” to which we said no. He explained it was the Urban Iditarod (AKA The Drunk Iditarod) We did however see Zombies……Where is Shane and his Zombie killing expertise! lol these guys were freaky looking too. We even saw people with Double Dare shirts and the helmets with the little cups. It was awesome.
But I was lookin around the internet and found this……
Houston, we have a problem. The Zombies are walking around WITH us!!
This looks like a job for……..*ahem* someone raise their hand! lol.
Anyways thats my little bit for Monday! I am going to try to get videos and such on here! 🙂
Wow this week went by pretty fast, considering its now Thursday! Well, Monday was a good day I worked my usual places, Fishers Landing, then Hearthwood and then Skills Center. Tuesday was ridiculous I get a call at 7:15am (didn’t get the message till about 8 when i got home) ABM needed me to cover a day lead shift at Hearthwood. So I agree and go (like I’d turn down 5 hours at $12.63/hour) So anyways, I get there and this day lead doesn’t do his job very well, so I start cleaning things up as I see them and making note of all of it in the log book. I had Bobby (one of our supes) take a look at the vacuum pipe and ext. cord. Both were really shot.
So about an hour later Bobby returns with a new pipe and new ext. cord. Much to my delight as my normal shift is vacuuming the portables. The lunch run at that school resembles Fishers landing but a lot more chaotic. I don’t think I have ever seen a more uncontrolled crazy group of children. they were spilling stuff, making messes and being SO loud I had to yell at someone 3 feet away in order for them to hear me. The part that really got under my skin, a kid in line to put dump his tray and such is standing about 5 – 6 feet from the trash can for milk cartons, this kid has a carton that has milk in it. Rather then waiting in line (like a normal kid) he throws his milk carton missing the can and landing on the floor next to it, mid flight milk comes flying out of the carton, this kid just stares at me smiling as i ask, “What do you think you are doing!!?” I had to take about 10 really deep slow breaths to calm down after that! Funny thing is today (wednesday) I get a call from ABM at like 10:45-ish they moved me away from Hearthwood, and sent me back to the school I was at last week lol oh well.
Today was a good day being back at Fishers Landing was so delightful, to be back in a controlled environment. I loved it!!
Thats my week. Tell me, how was yours!
